THE FIT-FACTOR CHALLENGE is a fitness program that challenges your employees against themselves. This professionally administered 12-week program will support your employees in reaching their fitness goals, and give you the benefits of having a healthy and active staff. Challenge your employees to improve their Fit-Factor!
Benefit:
The Fit-Factor Corporate Challenge is a defined 12 week program that uses a S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting approach. S.M.A.R.T. goals are Specific, Measurable, Agreeable, Realistic and have a Time Frame. By utilizing this model of goal setting, the Fit-Factor program encourages employees to create personalized health and fitness goals that promote personal development and individual achievement. At the same time, education, tools and techniques are built in that enable employees to experience and celebrate successes and commit to long term lifestyle changes. The program includes baseline and completion measures. Measures are tailored to employee demographics and needs, as well as employer budget. Throughout the 12-week program, employees are challenged to improve their health and fitness through a variety of methods predetermined by the employer and LifeWorks. The Fit-Factor program is adaptable and can be offered in almost any setting with formal or informal facilities, onsite or offsite. The program can therefore be offered to organizations with localized or remote locations or teams, resulting in an increased sense of accountability among participants, and fostering the development of teamwork within your organization. Because final results are based on individual improvement and employees are only measured against themselves, all employees can feel a sense of satisfaction and achievement from participation.
12 week challenge includes the following components:
Measurement Methods: All participants complete the same measurement methods at the beginning and end of the challenge for baseline and repeat measures. Through a consultation process, Lifeworks helps you choose appropriate measures based on the demographics of your staff, and your desired impact. Measures range from simplistic and non-invasive, to more extensive. Possible measurement methods can include some or all of the following:
- Fit-Factor Circuit (friendly and fun) - evaluates participant’s cardiovascular ability, strength and agility.
- Weight and Height measurements.
- Body Composition measurements (bio-impedance analysis, body imaging or skin fold measurements) – evaluates participant’s body composition.
- Basal Metabolic Index (BMI) - relation of weight and height (and associated health rating).
- Waist to Hip Ratio (WHR) – girth measurements (and associated health rating).
- Medical Measures: blood pressure, resting heart rate, and cholesterol.
Training Program: The Fit-Factor Fitness Program is a professionally developed fitness program that can be completed in the home, at the workplace, or at a local gym. All participants are taught how to get the most out of the program from the beginning.
Tracking: Accountability is instrumental to the success of the Fit Factor Fitness Program. Participants are given a checklist or tracking sheet to chart what they do each day, which will allow them to follow and track their progress.
Online access to an assigned Fit-Factor Personal Trainer: Throughout the program the employees have email access to the Fit-Factor Personal Trainer for advice, tips and accountability.
Executive Summary Report: At the completion of the program you will receive a report which will outline the participation in the program and the overall results your employees achieved. Please note that no specific personal data will be presented in this document. All individual data will remain confidential.
The following components can also be included to enhance the program and give added value to the participants.
Daily or weekly challenges: Challenges can include basic daily and weekly health and wellness tasks that employees can do to improve their fitness and wellness (ex. fitting in 50 stairs during the work day, completing 20 squats or 30 pushups per day, ensuring 7-8 hours per sleep a night, 8 glasses of water a day, adding an additional serving of fruits and veggies each day, etc.). These challenges can be emailed to the participants on a daily or weekly basis and include an educational component.
Educational Seminars: Topics can mirror daily or weekly challenges and, depending on employee demographics, can include: nutrition, hearth health, disease prevention, stress management, the importance of sleep or hydration, smoking cessation, meditation, etc. Any number of Educational Seminars can be added to the program.
Rewards: The promise of reward beyond improved personal health can also give incentive to participants. Incorporation of prizing for individual improvement can have great impact. Prizing can be supplied by the employer or LifeWorks is happy to source and supply rewards upon request. Rewards can include a wide range of items such as water bottles, gift certificates for wellness related services (ex. Massage or Personal Training), a weekend away, etc.
Program Cost:
The cost of the Fit-Factor Corporate Challenge program is specifically tailored to your company depending on the number of employees participating, the variables used to measure the participants, and the addition of value added components to the program. Therefore the cost of the program is dependant upon the program we design together.
