LifeWorks was providing management of the Fitness Centre & related programs when Cushman & Wakefield Facilities Management (C&W FM) began managing the site in 2007 for our global client. Most corporate fitness centres dream of the day when they might reach 25% active staff involvement. Even though membership is free, in 2007 we had about 60% of corporate staff signed up as members. Of these, perhaps 30% were active but there were extra activities, such as pilates or yoga classes for which staff were willing to pay extra. Through innovation, communication and one to one encouragement of our client’s staff, with just one, half-time staff member, LifeWorks has increased membership to between 80% & 90% and active members to more than 50%. On average, the active members are using our facility more than once a week.
